Can anyone tell me what happened to the mona coin def value on December 23. The def value increased by 100%. Later, on December 31, the def value increased by 450%, which I think is not normal because of the def value. There are 2 cases. 1 new asic comes into the system. 2 haveing have mona coin, but now don't have both. I think it's abnormal or now the mona coin is being hit at 51% attack, right? Couldn't anyone tell me what happened? together

Hi, i guess we spoke on reddit earlyer. Basically there is no further information available on this issue. Or, our japanese friends are not even aware of this fact. I have linked them a warning about lyra attackers on vtc but most of the members dismissed the warning by saying, lyra2rev2 and rev3 is too different and we should not be concerned. A few days later, the suspicious hash surge has appeared on the network. There was, however, no continuation of the events so far.

Because lyra2rev3 was attacked by nicehash.
So it's not the same thing as Monacoin this time.

Hello WakiP, nice to see you around. Yeah, its different, we have discussed this earlier on, with various people. Repeating this attack with the ecsact same hardware and software infrastructure would not be possible. I was more concerned about a similar attack with similar (but not the same) hardware and software infrastructure. And a few days later on, suspicious hash suddenly appeared on the network, which was also noticed by this person (who currently choose to remain anonymous for some reason) and thats how he started to get concerned about the possibility of a 51% attack.

Nicehash has hashrate about 10TH/s.
It has nothing to do with this case.

It seems that the miner has no intention of attack at this time.
I'm sorry if you buy an ASIC, but if they're not willing to attack, it's not an attack.
If countermeasures are taken, the algorithm will change, but it is neither valid nor realistic.

The developers mentioned earlyer that they planned to implement some checkpointing system. Was that implemented so far? If yes, then reorg is becoming nearly impossible.

Its functionality has existed since 0.16.2 .
Well, I think that it is difficult for other miners to dig.
I'm talking here, so please check if you like

The solution to that problem is to buy an ASIC.
